  • Awarded the Women In Business Achievement Award by the Hampton Roads Business Journal Inside Business (2006).
  • Received the National Leadership Award to serve as Honorary Chairman of Virginia for the Business Advisory Council, a private group founded in 1995 for the business community to provide economic and tax reform input to Washington, D.C., political leaders (2005).
  • Selected as the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management Schaffner Award recipient for alumna/alumnus distinguished in his or her field and who provided outstanding service to Kellogg Kellogg Business School (1993).

  • Appointed to the Editorial Board for CFO Europe magazine (April 2000-April 2005).
  • Served on the corporate board of Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago (1991-1994).
  • Served on the Council of Foreign Relations of Chicago and selected for the Committee of Foreign Affairs (1989-1994).
  • One of three founders of the Portland Opera Repertory Theatre in Maine (1995 to 1999); also served as fundraiser.
  • Served on Maine Humanities Council (1995-1999).
  • Elected to Board of Trustees at Northwestern University June 1985 for a two-year term.
